Locals for Ethical and Accountable Development
A coalition of residents from Hockley and the surrounding communities working together for transparency, public safety, and responsible development.
Protecting our communities. Promoting responsible development.
LEAD — Locals for Ethical & Accountable Development — was formed by neighbors who believe that decisions affecting our community should be made openly, with full public input and a clear understanding of long-term impact.
We are not opposed to growth. We are opposed to growth that bypasses meaningful review, downplays known risks, or treats the residents who already live here as an afterthought.
Our work focuses on sharing accurate information, organizing residents, and engaging with the agencies and officials whose decisions shape the future of Hockley and the surrounding areas.
The values that guide our work
Transparency
We believe residents deserve clear information about projects that affect their neighborhoods, schools, and daily lives.
Accountability
We hold developers, agencies, and elected officials to a high standard of public review and meaningful community input.
Community First
We advocate for growth that respects existing residents and reflects the values of the people who live here.
Resident-Led
LEAD is organized and funded by neighbors. We accept no corporate or developer dollars.
